Buyer's guide

Roofing contractor software, without the sales pitch.

“Roofing software” covers three different kinds of product at wildly different prices. Buying the wrong one is how contractors end up paying $400 a month for features they never open. Here is what each category does, what it costs, and how to tell which one you actually need.

Methodology and disclosure: Pricing was checked against each vendor's public pricing page on July 14, 2026. We build BetterRoofing, so we have first-hand access to it; the other summaries come from public vendor materials, not hands-on testing. Vendor pricing changes, so verify current figures with each company before deciding.

The three categories

Full production platforms

$250–$495/mo, often per user

AccuLynx, JobNimbus, ServiceTitan

Right for you if: You run crews, order materials, and need production scheduling, job costing, and accounting in one system.

The catch: Most of the feature list is production. If you are three people who mainly need to stop losing leads, you pay for the other 80%.

Setup fees up to $2,000 and an annual commitment are common

Measurement and estimating tools

Roughly $13–$100 per report, or a monthly plan

EagleView, Hover, RoofSnap

Right for you if: You want an accurate measurement to build a bid from, and you already have somewhere to track the job.

The catch: They measure roofs. They do not follow up with the homeowner or tell you which lead to call today.

No real onboarding. You order a report when you need one

Sales-side CRMs

$49–$97/mo, flat

BetterRoofing

Right for you if: Your leads arrive from a website, a yard sign, a referral and a phone call, and the ones you lose are the ones nobody followed up on.

The catch: No crew scheduling, material ordering, or accounting. If you need the whole operation in one system, this is not it.

No setup fee, month-to-month

One question decides it

Where does the money actually leak out of your business?

If jobs go wrong after you win them, with crews double-booked, materials late, or a job you never invoiced, that is a production problem and a full platform is worth its price. Buy AccuLynx or JobNimbus and do not look back.

If the leak is before the sale, with a homeowner who never got called back, a quote nobody chased, and no idea which leads turned into signed work, production software will not fix it. You will pay four times as much for a scheduling module you never open.

BetterRoofing is built for the second problem, and only the second problem.

  • Homeowners get a real price from your website in 25 seconds, using your rates
  • Every lead lands on one board, scored, whether it came from the site or a door knock
  • Follow-up runs on its own so quotes stop going quiet
  • Quotes are signed online, and you see your real close rate by job type
  • $49–$97 a month, flat, no setup fee, no per-seat billing

Common questions

How much does roofing contractor software cost?
It splits by category. Full production platforms like AccuLynx and JobNimbus generally run $250–$495 a month and are often priced per user, with setup fees that can reach $2,000. Measurement tools are usually per report, from around $13. Sales-side CRMs are the cheapest tier, in the $49–$97 a month range, flat. Figures checked against public vendor pricing pages on July 14, 2026.
What is the best CRM for roofing contractors?
It depends on which half of the business is losing you money. If jobs fall apart during production, whether that is crews, materials or scheduling, a full platform earns its price. If the leak is before the sale, where leads go unanswered and quotes go unchased, a sales-side CRM fixes the actual problem for a fraction of the cost. Buying the big platform to solve a sales problem is the common expensive mistake.
Do I need software if I only do a few roofs a month?
Not necessarily a full platform. At low volume the thing that costs you money is response time. A homeowner who asks for a price on Tuesday and hears back Thursday has usually already signed with someone. That problem is worth solving at any volume. Production software mostly is not, until you have crews to coordinate.
Can roofing software give homeowners an instant price?
Some can. It requires measuring the roof from aerial imagery and applying your own rates, rather than showing a national average. BetterRoofing does this in about 25 seconds from your website, and the homeowner becomes a scored lead in your pipeline. Most production platforms do not offer it, and most measurement tools produce a report for you rather than a price for the homeowner.
